IESCO chief promises 16 hour uninterrupted power supply to Industrial Estate

RAWALPINDI, April 22 (APP): 16 hours of uninterrupted electricity will be provided to the Industrial Estate of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and every effort would be made to supply 8 hours of continuous power to the traders, Chief Executive Officer Islamabad Electric Supply (IESCO) Javed Parvez said Thursday.
Exchanging views with the President RCCI Kashif Shabbir during his visit to the RCCI here he said that IESCO top priority was to provide maximum energy to the traders and the industrialists to enhance the business activities in the region. “Business community should support government stance to overcome the prevailing energy crisis”, he plead.
Speaking on the occasion President RCCI Kashif Shabbir applauded the step taken by the newly appointed CEO regarding the RCCI industrial estate and said that this decision will rescue the dying industry of the region.
Eighteen hours of load shedding was destroying the industry and as well as the business activities in the city. The new CEO of IESCO is a professional Engineer, having vast experience in the field and fully aware of the problems of the business community.
RCCI President said that current decision of reducing load shedding would give new life to the industry. He thanked Javed Parvez for his visit to the Chamber and assured his full cooperation to the IESCO CEO. Senior Vice President Syed Ali Raza Saeed Shah, Vice President Rashid Waien, former presidents of RCCI and members of local trade associations were also present on the occasion.

Ambassador of Czech Republic H.E. Mr. Pavol Sepelak visited RCCI on 07.04.2010

The main points of discussion are as under:
1. President RCCI briefed the Ambassador with the ongoing activities of RCCI including RCCI industrial Estate (SEZ) and Women Development Cell.
2. A business delegation of RCCI in future will be formulated for Czech Republic.
3. Dr. Shomail Arian and Raja Amir Iqbal were appointed as focal persons for future correspondence.
4. Ambassador showed great interest in the energy sector of Pakistan and invited local community for possible business ventures, the sectors may be Hydel power plants, Wind Power Plants, Solar Plants, natural gas or petroleum driven units.
5. Waste/sewerage management system was also discussed for investment in Rawalpindi city.
6. Mr. Syed Ali Raza Saeed Shah presented vote of thanks to the Chief Guest.

Seminar on Emotional Intelligence (EI)

RCCI in collobaration with NPO Pakistan has arranged a seminar on Emotional Intelligence on 14 April 2010, the session will start on 1000 hrs and will end at 1630 hrs in Khalid Waleed Hall of RCCI, Participation fee is Rs. 2000/- per head with 20 % discount for RCCI members.
